The! Warshanna Ensemble

“Based out of Baltimore, The! Warshanna Ensemble produces Egyptian hard bop that is boundary pushing and a hark to the past.

Ahmed is an Egyptian-American who combines the east and west with his original music. Introduced to Egyptian music at a young age by his parents who emigrated from Egypt in the late 80’s, Ahmed takes inspiration from Jazz stylings combined with the music of Umm Kulthum, Fairuz, and Abdel Halim Hafez.

In his debut album, “Ishta”, Ahmed combines the music of his favorite Egyptian artists with the style of hard bop. The result is a refreshing, new sound that is unique to The! Warshanna Septet. “

Brunswick

Brunswick formed in Baltimore, MD in late 2021 after vocalist/guitarist Marc Cashin decided to record some songs he had written over the years. The goal was to record a small demo, just guitar, and vocals, and keep it as a historical record of what he had written. After hooking up with long-time friend and producer, Stephen Antonelli (Songbuilder Studios), it became clear that these songs could be much more than just a small demo… The band released their first single, Good Stuff, on August 19th, and have just released their first full length album, The Same Ground, in October of 2022.
